Hero Story
A dear friend just appeared back in my life after 25 years of no contact (thanks FB). Our conversations have been so rich and wonderful and it has been so amazing to hear about his journey, his story, and where it has brought him in his life. I believe he has enjoyed my banter about life and the varied experiences that I have had as well.
Here is the thing that I have enjoyed the most, we are in real conversation, no bullshit, no half truth, but real truth of what we can judge as good and what we can judge as dark or embarrassing. We came from a place of total and complete
acceptance.
Are you hiding behind your story? Do you ever find yourself stating half truths because you are afraid of what the other person will think of you? Or decide not to share a part of who you are because of fear of rejection? What are we so afraid of? Everything that has occurred in your life has brought you to this moment right now. And that means EVERYTHING. The dark moments of a battle and the peaceful moments free of conflicts. You have a hero story. A story that is filled with pain and darkness. A story that is filled with love and energy. A story that is all yours and has the power to inspire others. All of your war wounds have made you into the person you are today. Be compassionate, empathetic and proud of who you are. Love
yourself and your story enough that someone else’s personal judgment can’t wound you.
So for me, here is what I have learned through owning and loving my hero story:
- Someone is always going to hate me and someone will always love me.
- Some people believe in me and what I do and some people think I am full of shit
- Someone will always reject me and someone will always invite me in.
and
It’s really just between me and the Universe….
How would your life be different if you could shift from limited thinking or half-truths into expanded thinking, loving and being real about who you are? It takes a brave person to be willing to drop the veil they are hiding behind and honor themselves and their paths. So, my dear friend, thank you for sharing your wars, battles, and triumphs. I am honored to be a part of your hero story
